A Letter from Earth
by Dani Kopoulos
the japanese say a poem can only be perfect if it reflects “sabi,” the pathos inherent in nature.
the best way to walk atop this globe
is lonely and in love.
all guides sacrifice of themselves to help their disciples advance.
all guides know what they’re doing.
i know the power of my core.
my beauty and horror, my systems and order,
my patience and fury,
all the complexities
of our oneness and separation
are made simple
and beautiful
by impermanence.
let that haunt you
and you’ll know what to do.
